Kosta Canetselis and Alex Ferrabetta, whom you may remember animated the Indie Finances Talk at GCAP, are letting Kathy use the pixel person they created for her! The big media news in Adelaide is that John Oestmann of Raccoon Media Cafe has joined forces with Live Booleans and created....

Yes, Kathy had the unbelievable honour of being given a Rising Star Award at the Australian Game Developer Awards 2021.
This time Kathy is doing a conference presentation which is NOT about Frog's Princess! Amazing. This is the official conference poster. It was animated by Kosta Canetelis and Alex Ferrabetta of Live Booleans who worked really hard animating the 37 minute movie. Kathy was adding her slide to this promotional picture, and the colours kept washing out. She had pressed Control +Y in Photoshop, and made the whole thing in CMYK colours!!! Needless to say, she has added a warning in her 'Stuck in Photoshop?' page in her own website in the hope that other people won't get caught like she did. Here is the poster with simpler wording and correct colours.
Well, not exactly launched, as it is not for sale or anything.
Kristian Leadbeater created a hilarious animation of Frog's Theme by Christian Paterson, and this was shown to the world for the first time ever in John Oestmann's Raccoon Media Café. Kathy has been granted the honour of speaking at the inaugural Games For Change Asia-Pacific 2021 Festival. Her talk is called Frog’s Princess: Making a diverse, inclusive and accessible visual novel.
Guess who is on the Family Video Games Database list of the top 80 games in the world for getting children reading?
Whoops, we will be asking them to correct Mac to PC in a hurry! Kathy is honoured to have been accepted to present at the inaugural Games for Change Asia-Pacific 2021 Festival.
The title of her presentation will be: Frog’s Princess: Making a diverse, inclusive and accessible visual novel. We could also call it - the trials and tribulations of making diverse and accessible games but somehow we didn't think they would go for that title. Absolutely thrilled to be featured as a new game on Andy Robertson's Family Video Game Data Base, https://www.taminggaming.com/new.
For those that don't know, Andy Robertson is a freelance video game journalist who has written for ForbesTech, the BBC and the Guardian. He is the author of the Taming Gaming book, an excellent initiative showing parents how to help their children play video games healthily. It even includes recipes for how to get the most out of each game! Andy's Twitter address is @GeekDadGamer. Can you spot Frog's Princess on the page? Yes, we took the plunge, and iOS and Android versions are now available in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Malta.
Now Frog's Princess is available in all countries which require visas in English. Players can still toggle between the default US spelling and the UK spelling, so as not to get confuzed. Confused? Mixed up. For the second demo night in a row, Kathy was so excited to be getting feedback about Frog's Princess, she forgot to take any photographs! As usual, some people avoided it like the plague, and others spent significant amounts of time playing it. Thank you to Game Plus-AIE for organising these nights.
