Mother
The mother in Frog's Princess died exactly one year before the story starts.
She was a beautiful princess who dutifully married an older king and learned to love him. She was very traditional and she taught her daughters to wait for a prince to come and claim them. Mother is remembered in the Golden Orb singing to her baby, telling her that one day her prince will come. Mother sighs in the forest when Prince Francis rides past.
