Here is Christy with the shortest we have ever seen her hair.
Frog's Princess began development when Christy Butt made the first character images in 2015.
Seen these characters in the game? Christy Butt made them all.
Christy was so determined to get the characters right, she even read the whole middle grade novel, Frog's Princess, on which the game is based. All of her stunning art is fully vectored, which is why it has such clean, flowing lines.
Here is an example of Christy designing a character.
The first image is by Kathy. So good.
Christy's original concept sketch was altered to add flowing hair and make the clothes more princely (although still clearly from a rustic principality). Usually there is a colour sketch as well.

Christy started in 2014 making different personalities for Emma. Here are the original Emmas. There are in fact 102 variations of Emma in the game. Some have up to 10 different expressions. In total, there are 551 Emma pose-expression combinations, but not all are used in the game.
Want to know something else interesting about Christy? Before she earned her art qualifications, she graduated in Computer Science!
Christy is a skilled artist and finalled in the Adelaide Parklands Art Prize in 2018. She makes cards, prints and enamel pins as well as doing commissions.
Christy was interviewed during the launch party about what it was like to work on Frog's Princess, over what turned out to be a period spanning 7 years.

Vicki made us an elephant who turns into a giant. Look at those tusks! And those ears!
And you might recognise the club looks a lot like the elephant's howdah.
